Who we are
Sophisticated Concrete is a concrete contractor based in Kenosha, WI, and we pour new concrete and repair old concrete for homes and businesses.
Most of what we build is what the trade calls "flatwork": the driveways, patios, sidewalks and garage slabs around a house or a shop, plus the steps, walls and floors that go with them. When a slab is already down, we look at whether it can be repaired, lifted or resurfaced before anyone talks about tearing it out.
We talk to you the way a neighbor would. We tell you plainly what the concrete needs, we quote the whole job before we start, and we clean up when the work is done.

What we do
The work we take on
We pour driveways, patios, walks, slabs and walls, and we repair, lift and resurface the concrete that is already there. This is the work we take on.
Driveways
Torn out and poured new over a compacted gravel base that drains.
Patios
Broom-finished, colored or stamped, with the joints planned before the pour.
Sidewalks and walks
Front walks, side walks and public sidewalk panels, new or replaced.
Garage and shed slabs
Slabs poured to the depth, slope and reinforcement the load needs.
Retaining walls
Poured and block walls on a footing, with drainage built in behind them.
Stamped concrete
Patterned and colored to look like stone, brick or slate.
Crack and spalling repair
Cracked, chipped and broken concrete cut back to sound and rebuilt.
Leveling
Sunken walks, steps and slabs lifted back to level, the trade's "slabjacking".
Resurfacing
A bonded overlay on a sound slab whose surface has worn, flaked or scaled.

How we run a job
Every job starts with a site visit and a written estimate, and the work follows the plan you approved.
Nothing gets poured or cut on a guess. The estimate is the plan and the price, and we quote the whole job before we start, with no surprise charges after.

You call us
Tell us what the concrete is doing, or what you want poured, and we set a time to come out. We answer or call back the same working day.
We visit the site
The estimate starts on site: we take the measurements, look at the soil and where the water drains, and talk through the design and what you want the concrete to do.
You get a written estimate
It lists the materials, labor, schedule and contingencies, so you can see the whole job and its price on paper.
You approve the plan
Nothing goes on the calendar until you say yes. Once you do, we schedule the work and show up when we say we will.
We build to that plan
The base, forms, pour, finish and joints follow the estimate you approved. If tearing out an old slab turns up something the plan did not cover, we show you before anything changes.
We clean up
When the work is done we clean up the site and tell you when the new concrete is ready for feet and cars.
